"At the foot of the holy well in St. Agnes, a place formerly of great repute, Dr. Borlase says he thinks the remains of a similar well to the last [St Nun's, or St Nonna's Well] are still discernible, though the sea has demolished the walls. . The Cornish call this immersion "boussening," from
beuzi or
budhizzi in the Corno-British and Armoric, signifying to dip or to drown."
